St. Luke's is a dynamic, quality Catholic elementary school, serving grades Pre-K through 8 in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx. Founded in 1910, St. Luke's is dedicated to providing an academically excellent values-based education to each child in its care. St. Luke's School mourns the loss of Msgr. Gerald J. Ryan (February 16, 1920-April 11, 2013)

We are heartbroken over the loss of our beloved pastor, Msgr. Gerald Ryan, who passed away on April 11, 2013. Father Ryan, as he preferred to be called, began working as a priest in the Bronx in 1945, and went on to become the longest-serving pastor in New York, and possibly the country. He died at Our Lady of Consolation, a residence for ill priests, in Riverdale, NY. He was 93.
